How Do FastBraces® Work?

At a glance, FastBraces® might seem like the traditional metal braces that have been used for generations. However, upon closer inspection, you will see that FastBraces® use a completely different type of bracket. Whereas traditional brackets are square, FastBraces® use triangular brackets connected by a single wire instead.

That might not seem like much of a difference, but the shape of the brackets is a big deal! Traditional braces first place pressure on the roots of the teeth in order to shift them. Fast braces can move the roots and the crowns simultaneously. This leads to quicker overall results.

What Issues Can FastBraces® Fix?

During your consultation, we can let you know whether your unique dental misalignment can be corrected with this treatment. In the meantime, here is a brief overview of problems that FastBraces® are often suitable for:

Bite Misalignment

Overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites are common types of malocclusions. FastBraces® may be able to shift your teeth and align your jaws in a way that allows your upper and lower dental arches to work harmoniously together.

Crowded & Crooked Teeth

Crowded and crooked teeth may overlap one another, making it challenging for you to maintain through oral hygiene. They can also look unattractive. Fortunately, FastBraces® may be able to shift your teeth in a way that gives them the space and positioning they need to function optimally.

Gapped Teeth

Extra space between your teeth can leave your gums vulnerable to irritation and make you self-conscious about your appearance. Often, FastBraces® can close unwanted gaps, leading to a more attractive and healthier smile.

Caring for Your FastBraces®

For successful treatment, it is important that you take good care of your FastBraces®. Here are some tips to that end:

  • Stick a good oral hygiene routine: Ideally, you should brush and floss after each meal.
  • Avoid hard and sticky foods: Foods like popcorn, nuts, hard candies, chewing gum, and caramel can damage your FastBraces®.
  • Attend all recommended appointments: Keep all scheduled orthodontic appointments to ensure your treatment progresses as planned. Our team will need to make periodic adjustments to your braces.
  • Protect your braces during sports: If you play contact sports, wear a custom orthodontic mouthguard to protect your FastBraces® and teeth from injury.
  • Be gentle: Avoid using your teeth as tools to open packages or bite into hard objects.
  • Report issues promptly: If a bracket or wire becomes loose or breaks, contact us immediately to have it repaired.
